Blast From the Past

It’s been a long time since the League of Outlaws had an official league race. You’d have to go all the way back almost 15 years ago to 2009 to find anything to do with the league. Things were way different back then. The league was based off of a console game called NASCAR 09 by EA Sports and wifi barely existed.

We here at the League of Outlaws wanted to explore those days and get a little more information on how things were ran, and what better way than to ask AJ Hunsinger.

“Things were way different back then. Most of us still had a MySpace, that’s how different things were. Our league was arguably best most professionally presented racing league that existed for NASCAR 09. We have a few damn good drivers as well. One of those drivers that comes to mind was John Dragonetti. I believe his car number was #20 and was a Gibbs fan. He was always the guy to beat and we were having some hard battles every week but he always ran me clean.”

AJ owned a team called Daytona Star Motorsports which was named after his now oldest daughter. He raced for his own team and also had a few good teammates along the way. His cars he ran were based off of an Eagle Talon so their paint schemes, had the Talon headlights, grill, emblems, and tail lights.
