LoO, Confirms IMCA Style Dirt Modifieds To Be Used In League

The League if Outlaws confirms that the league will introduce IMCA style modifieds under the UMP Modifieds on iRacing. AJ Hunsinger has been working on a setup with the UMP Modifieds that closely mimics the handling characteristics of an IMCA Modified.

“The IMCA’s use the G60 Hoosier tire which is a very hard compound. The UMP’s [modifieds] use a much softer tire so they have way more traction and can really hook up. The IMCA’s run at a much slower pace because they are waiting on traction.” said AJ.

This setup that AJ has been working on will be a forced setup in the league, meaning all racing league drivers will be forced to use the setup during hosted league races. When asked if there were any other changes made to the UMP, AJ said he would also be using the “Horsepower Penalty” tool through iRacing as well.

“The UMP also has over 700 horsepower. Most IMCA guys anymore are running either the 602 or 604 crate engine which only makes around 450 horsepower. Although we can run an open motor, the extra horsepower almost hurts you in a way.” said AJ.

There is no timeline set in place as to when the league plans to kick off, but building the website and setting everything up is priority.
