The League of Outlaws IMCA Style Modifieds came to Pennsylvania on New Years Eve to battle it out on the slick half mile at Port Royal Speedway. James A Murphy padded his points lead and won the race. James, now has a 19 point advantage over a new 2nd place driver, AJ Hunsinger. With it being New Years Eve, a few of the regular drivers like Brayton Kajewski, Aidan Schulte, and Mark Manno were not in attendance and also did not register to secure a provisional. This shook up the top of the points standings as expected.

The track was slick and to many drivers’ surprise, the top lane did not really come in all night until very late in the feature. But, it was quite a handful running up top as it was very rough and it was hard to stay out of the wall. Jared Murphy, led the first half of the race, a total of 23 laps, until his tires began to fall off and brother James was able to make the pass for the lead.

Coming to the white flag with just two laps to go, the #51 machine of Skyler Shippee made contact with the backstretch wall causing him to get a little squirelly right in front of the #515 of Chris R. Cox and the two drivers made contact. The contact caused the #515 to get sideways and he came to a halt in the middle of turns 3 and 4. The end result was a yellow flag to be waved over the field with a green white checkered finish to follow.

Several drivers were on tires that were all used up and it made things interesting with comers and goers, but in the end, James A. Murphy was the one that took the checkered flag 1st with Trevor Doyle 2nd, Bryson Fields 3rd, AJ Hunsinger 4th, and rounding out the top 5 and coming from the back, Mitchell Maynard.
