Hunsinger, Races in the Mississippi Mud 60

League of Outlaws driver and owner AJ Hunsinger, was among 22 drivers for the QuickTime Promotions Mississippi Mud 60 at Lucas Oil Raceway with the Dirt Street Stocks. It was a fixed setup race with a $10 entry fee and $100 to win that the guys from QuickTime were hosting. Hunsinger qualified deep in the field and with no heat races, he would have to start towards the back in the feature race.

“PeaceMaker Gaming reached out to me and told me about the race a couple of hours prior to the race. I hadn’t driven the Dirt Street Stocks in a couple of years but I figured since PeaceMaker was broadcasting the race, I would give it a shot. I was disappointed in my qualifying time but with a 60 lap feature, I hoped to be able to pick them off one by one. When we were sitting in the lineup, Race Control came across the radio and mentioned that the fuel window was 51 laps. With 60 green flag laps, plus all of the laps riding under caution, I saved a lot of fuel. Rode around on the bottom and was only half throttle on the straightaways. I finally started pushing it with 10 to go but I really didn’t seem to be any faster compared to when I was saving fuel. Brang her home in 11th place. I’m not sure if the fuel thing was intentional or if it was a goof up but it made it challenging for sure. Hard to race with you are worried about running out of fuel, especially on a dirt track. Kind of weird, but I had fun and the guys at QuickTime seem like a good group of guys and I plan to run with them again in the future.
