Fairbury, put on some amazing racing as it was the host of race 5 of 22 scheduled races for the 2025 LoO IMCA Style Modified racing season. Fairbury, is a small track, but wide and offers several different racing lines. In practice, James Murphy and AJ Hunsinger topped the charts each running a 13.200 second lap time which was significantly faster lap times than some of the drivers that had just ran at USA International for the P!SS Missile Punchout with the VW Jetta’s where the League of Outlaws drivers would finish in the top 3 spots.

Brandon Jarvis, would set on the pole position in heat race number 1 with Matt Pridgen making his first appearance this season to his outside. Initially, most fans were excited to see what Tyler Bickford could do as we was starting in last place. Early on, Jarvis and Pridgen battled for the lead and it looked like Pridgen would be able to complete the pass running the highest most line.. After a few laps, Jarvis threw a slider to complete the pass but Pridgen did a crossover and now each driver have swapped lanes, but then Pridgen threw a slider of his own just to be met with yet another slider from Jarvis. As Pridgen tried doing another crossover back to the bottom off turn 2, Ty Dickenson and Robert Floyd had caught the leaders and the four drivers were four wide momentarily. Ty Dickenson, would pull away with the race lead and eventual race win.

With the heat line ups being dictated by random draw, heat 2 was stacked with some very fast drivers from practice. Both Murphy brothers and AJ Hunsinger. Jared Murphy, who was the winner of the P!SS Missile Punchout, would lead early on but towards the end, brother James Murphy would prevail as he would make the pass for the race win.

The top 3 fastest in the warm-up session between the heat races and the feature event were Robert Floyd with a 13.765, Hunsinger with a 13.821, and James Murphy with a 13.826. Heat 1 winner Ty Dickenson would bring the field to the green flag for the feature.

Immediately, cars were running multiple racing grooves allowing for some 3 and 4 wide racing. Some guys were running the top shelf along the wall getting a huge run down the straightaways. Others were running in the middle which is what seemed to be the fastest in the heat races while a couple were beginning to wrap the bottom all the way down around the infield tractor tires.

Just a few laps in the books and the top three were single file. Behind them, Hunsinger was on the charge from the 6th place starting position and having a great battle with Brandon Jarvis. Hunsinger, on the top, was making the pass for 4th and then off of turn two, Jarvis came up off corner exit and forced Hunsinger into the wall. Hunsinger, would fall back to 8th and would have to go back to work.

Tyler Bickford, started all the way back in the 9th position. We have been talking about him all season long as he has been extremely impressive. Bickford, began running the most lowest line on the track early on and was able to make his way up to 5ht position within about 10 laps of the feature. Up front, James Murphy had made the pass on Ty Dickenson for the race lead.

Hunsinger, started working his way back towards the front after falling to 8th after the contact with the wall. He was also running that super low line which if you hit perfectly, you could stay in the tack and really get good forward drive on corner exit. Hunsinger, was making the pass on Robert Floyd and the two made slight contact as it looked like Floyd didn’t know Hunsinger was below him and the contact broke Floyd’s left front. Really bad break for Floyd as he was looking great in warm-ups.

Green flag back out and James Murphy pulled away again with Ty Dickenson still 2nd and Jared Murphy in 3rd. The racing behind them was spectacular as Jarvis, Bickford, and Hunsinger were battling hard for 4th. Hunsinger made it all the way to the 4th position on the white flag but Bickford and Jarvis were able to beat him across the finish line on the final lap.

James Murphy, would pick up his 5th win of the 5 races ran so far in the 2025 LoO IMCA Style Modified racing season. Ty Dickenson, finished 2nd after a very strong performance and winning heat race 1. Jared Murphy, would bring it home in 3rd with our hard charger Tyler Bickford finishing 4th after starting way back in 9th. Brandon Jarvis, would round out our top 5.
